With reference to events, we hold a Spring and Summer Flower Show, a plant sale, a coach trip, three speaker evenings and a couple of quiz nights each. Below are details of previous events to give you a flavour of what we're about.
May 2026 Coach trip to Lepe
15 members went on a day trip to Lepe Country Park where they spent a couple of hours exploring the woodland walk, bird hide, boardwalk and the sensory garden. After lunch it was onto Lepe House Gardens, a stunning 14 acre spring garden, where we were shown around the coastal garden, woodland, walled garden and arboretum by the owner and head gardener. The tour was followed up with tea and cake and the opportunity to sit on the terrace and take in the views. If you weren't lucky enough to join us, Lepe House Gardens opens one Sunday each April as part of the National Open Gardens Scheme
May 2026 Plant Sale
The plant sale has now become an annual event, with plants being donated for sale at a bargain price, along with members who've taken a stall to sell their own plants, produce and crafts. This year we even had a queue outside waiting for the event to open
Speaker Evenings
Talks are on a diverse range of subjects ranging from The Life of local Photographer Julia Margaret Cameron, the history of the Yarmouth Ferry to Life as a Medieval Knight at the Wars of the Roses. If you have any suggestions for a future speaker evening please let one of the committee know.
