We hold a Spring Flower Show in March each year and a Summer Show in August. The Spring show is held in a local hall whereas the summer show marquee forms part of a larger community event on Jubilee Field in Freshwater. At both shows there are classes for flowers, vegetables, floral art, cookery, handicrafts, photography and junior.

Anyone can enter exhibits into the show. There's a 25p entry fee per class for Freshwater Horticultural Society members and 5op entry fee for non-members. Under 12's are free
The Basics of Showing
Firstly download a copy of the Show Schedule. This will show you all the Classes you may want to enter. They all have a number next to them.
Then read the Rules. This will tell you of what the Judge is looking for.
Phone up, message or email the Show Manager on the Wednesday to Friday before the Show giving your name and the numbers of the classes you want to enter.
Either the evening before the show or on the morning of the Show, bring your exhibit carefully and someone will show you where to put it on the table (known as the bench). Or if you are bringing cut flowers you must put them in a vase which is provided for you. There will be different sizes depending on the size of your flowers.
You may need floral foam, or newspaper, to put in the vase, to help your flowers stand up straight. We provide the water for the vases.
You will be given a small card with your name and class number on it. Place this under your entry UPSIDE DOWN (so the Judge can’t read it).
Pay for your entry if there is a charge. This will be in the Rules.
You must leave the area while the Judging is taking place. This usually takes a few hours, so come back after 1pm to see if you've won!
