We hold a Spring Flower Show in March each year and a Summer Show in August. The Spring show is held in a local hall whereas the summer show marquee forms part of a larger community event on Jubilee Field in Freshwater - see below for photographs and a review of the 2026 show. At both shows there are classes for flowers, vegetables, floral art, cookery, handicrafts, photography and junior.
Dates for 2027 shows will be announced in the Autumn.
Saturday 8 August was our Summer Show. 2026 saw the largest event since the return it being held in a marquee a few years ago. Despite the dry summer we had a record number of exhibitors, over 70 in total, not to mention a record amount of visitors to the show in the afternoon.
There were also more stall holders than previous year, entries in the dog show were up over 40% on last year (we actually had significantly more entries than the dog show at Chale show the previous weekend), Other attractions for the afternoon visitors to enjoy included a traditional funfair, a beer tent, refreshments courtesy of Dimbola Tearooms and not forgetting live music throughout. It was free entry to the overall event, however there was a small charge to enter the show marquee, this charge helps to offset some of the hire cost of the marquee, and without the generosity of the visitors we wouldn’t be able to hold the summer show in its current form.

Simon Burrough won trophies for flowers and a trophy for most points in the Fruit classes
A new exhibitor, Simon Penn, won the novice Dahlia trophy and his dad, Mark, who travelled all the way from Buckinghamshire, won the National Dahlia Society Bronze Medal and a trophy for the Best Dahlia in show
Darren Everest won the National Dahlia Society for the Best Exhibit in the 3 vase Dahlia class
Penny Sheldon won Best Exhibit of Roses
Sue Cox won two trophies for Floral Art
Rebecca Walker won a trophy for Most Points in Cookery
Steve Newberry won Best Exhibit in Photography
Best Exhibit in the Show was won by Rita Langford for her exquisite crochet Bee Hive and she also won a trophy for Best Exhibit in Handicraft
In the children’s classes the winners received rosettes and cash prizes
